Welcome to Part 2 of our How-To Tutorial on installing a Plugin in WordPress. This method is usually meant for Pro versions of plugins which usually sell on Marketplaces like Envato Marketplace for example.
There are of course other reasons for uploading plugins like if you develop a plugin yourself or if you would like to customize a plugin to suite specific needs with a developer such as ourselves, we would then tweak it for example and send it back to you modified (within the developer’s license scope of course ;)) You would then use this method to upload the plugin back to WordPress.
So let’s get on with How to Install a WordPress Plugin using the Upload method.
WordPress Plugin Upload Method
I’ve downoaded Essential Add-Ons for Elementor Pro which I’ve placed in my downloads folder. After downloading the plugin, log into your WordPress Dashboard and hover you mouse over Plugins and select Add New from the submenu.
Then, select Upload Plugin on Plugins screen.
Then click Choose File and select your file from the downloaded destination folder and click ok. You will then notice the loaded file and the Install Now button is clicable, go ahead and click Install Now.
Click Activate Plugin and that’s it!
So there you go! You now know how to use both methods of installing a plugin. Please remember that installing a plugin from an untrusted source is really risky and can contain some serious bugs, errors, malware, viruses and other malicious code – So be careful here.
If you’d like to validate a plugin, visit out Contact Us page and fill in the form. We’ll validate it for you FREE of charge – Do note however that we will not validate or look at any nulled plugins or themes, only certified copies from developers.
We hope you enjoyed this two part tutorial and check out Part 1 by clicking here if you haven’t seen it.
